Winelands Wood Works was born from curiosity and a warm passion for the South African winelands, its rich heritage and wine traditions, and its age old outdoor culture built around great wine and barbeques.

A while ago, we decided on an initiative for creating stylish crafts, decor and outdoor furniture from carefully sourced and revived oak wood barrels. With an important difference!

We believe that each barrel, like each wine or whiskey, has its own unique story to tell. This, we believe, makes for the whole experience around wine and whiskey to be so much more enjoyable.

• Where did the barrel come from? Who made it?

• Where did the oak wood come from? Where in France?

• Which wine or whiskey producer used it?

• Which wine or whiskey was produced from it.

• Which blend exactly, and which year?

To preserve the story, we mainly make use ofbarrels that we get directly from selected wine producers. We go to great lengths to trace back the origins of as many barrels as we can.

We create a whole new journey for the barrel by creating a wide selection of quality craftsmanship for home, office or event decor.

The crafting process deliberately makes minimal use of machining and tools, to preserve as much character of each stave as possible.

Please note that our products are available with customised engraving as optional, to cater for gifts, tourism, wine farms, guest houses, game lodges, corporates or events.
